The Stoked on Spring annual art auction to benefit Stoked Mentoring will take place on May 19 at Milk Gallery in NYC. This year’s event will feature works from great artists like Andy Warhol.
Andrew Warhola (August 6, 1928 – February 22, 1987), known as Andy Warhol, was an American painter, printmaker, and filmmaker who was a leading figure in the visual art movement known as pop art. The 1960s was an extremely prolific decade for Warhol. Appropriating images from popular culture, Warhol created many paintings that remain icons of 20th-century art, such as the Campbell’s Soup Cans, Disasters and Marilyns. In addition to painting, Warhol made several 16mm films that have become underground classics such as Chelsea Girls, Empire, and Poor Little Rich Girl.
Here’s a sneak peak of the Andy Warhol print that will be available for bid at this year’s Stoked on Spring event.
