Since 1999, JCPenney has continued to grow and develop a props-worthy charitable foundation around a cause that is near and dear to the hearts of the Stoked community- afterschool programming. Over the past 10 years, JCPenney Afterschool has allocated $100 million to support, develop, and improve afterschool programs for schools and communities across America. Last week, after reaching its $100 Million milestone, JCPenney Afterschool launched “Care. Share. Win!” a facebook campaign that allows JCPenney fans to vote on the programs they feel should be the next recipients of JCPenney Afterschool grants and scholarships amounting to $1 Million. We love to see such localized and focused corporate giving from large and powerful oganizations like JCPenney. Hopefully, more companies will follow these CSR trends and focus charitable outreach on worthy causes like educational development…Rock on JC.
