Stoked expands to Brooklyn Technical HS

The fourth school in Brooklyn for Stoked Plus: After-school program this school year is Brooklyn Tech. Brooklyn Tech is one of the top schools in New York City and with 5200 students it’s easy for kids to slip through the cracks. The open house for this program drew a record number of students interested in joining – showing that there is a need for youth who don’t fit the typical mold of sports and after-school programs. Over 50% receive free lunch and a lot of them need alternative ways to reclaim school credit. What excites me about this program is that in addition to doing Stoked Plus: Skateboard Build, the students have formed a Stoked Club. They have elected officers, have drafted a constitution, and are receiving school credit for participating. Look for more news from them this Fall.
