Mentor Activity: Harry Potter movie screenings
Is your mentee a Harry Potter fan? In preparation for the upcoming movie, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, the Buena Vista Branch Library is screening the first 6 movies in order, so as to ensure that we are all up to snuff on our Harry Potter knowledge. This Saturday, November 13, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix is being shown at 10:30am. Shortly after, at 2:00pm, there will be another screening, this time of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. Costumes are encouraged! Click here for a map.
Mentor Activity: LA TAMALE THROWDOWN
This Friday, November 12th, and Saturday, November 13th, the Eastside Bike Club will put on a Tamale Throwdown! A number of tamale vendors, representing different regions of Mexico and Central America, will be there to satisfy even the biggest tamale fan’s appetite. Located at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church Rose Hills parking lot, at 4255 Brown Ave, the event requests that everybody bring a canned good to donate towards their Thanksgiving Drive. 10am-10pm.
