Mentor Activities New York: Winter Break

With all of the Stoked youth on winter break for the next couple of weeks, there will be plenty of opportunities to do some of those New York holiday-time things that will be gone before you know it! Here are 3 suggestions to help ensure you don’t miss out:
1. Midtown Manhattan
Much of New York’s holiday spirit seems to center around 5th Ave between Rockerfeller Center and 59th St in Manhattan. From the store window displays that look more like fairytale illustrations than anything else, to the enorous Christmas tree at Rockerfeller center, to the ice skating rinks at Rock Center and Central Park, this part of town is certainly worth a visit!

2. End-of-year Movies
Hollywood always makes a push at the end of the year to get a few big movies out for the holidays. Check out Regal, AMC or your local theater to see what’s out! and IMDB always has good reviews.

3. Volunteer!
‘Tis the season to give back, so why not spend an afternoon volunteering with one of New York’s many volunteer organizations this holiday season. From soup kitchens to toy drives, there’s something for everyone. Check out these options, or look around your neighborhood for an option!
