Mentor Activity: Gingerbread Houses
‘Tis the season, and if you’re in need of inspiration for your own gingerbread house, Le Parker Meridien and City Harvest’s Gingerbread House display is glad to provide you with some. Constructed by the confectionary geniuses at Treats Truck and Buttercup Bakery, this theme centers around ‘Movies Made in New York.’

Mentor Activity: The Highline exhibit “A Bell for Every Minute”
The Highline, a raised park that stretches from West 14th St (entrance on Little 12th St) into Chelsea, is a city moment away from the City, and is well worth a train ride to West 14th St (A, C, E, L to 8th Ave and 14th, or 1, 2, 3 to 14th and 7th Ave). There is currently more reason to go, as Stephen Vitiello has created a ‘breathtaking sound piece’ called “A Bell for Every Minute” in the section between W. 13 and W. 14th streets in which he uses 59 of the bell sounds that can be heard in New York and combining them into a sonic experience. All of the bells sound together on the hour, and then one rings on each minute. Click here for a preview!
