This past weekend Stoked New York had an action-packed weekend. On Saturday 45 Stokers , 30 of which were youth, showed up to McCarren Park in Brooklyn for the second Stoked to Serve hosted by House of Vans. The day included a park clean-up followed by an afternoon skate session! The morning clean-up was a success. The stoked crew picked up trash and mulched, beautifying the Williamsburg park. However, the highlight of the day was the afternoon skate session! 15 kids skateboarded for the first time! Another highlight was Karla’s cupcakes, which she made for Hema’s (Karla’s mentee) birthday. Thank you to Karla for the delicious sweets and to everyone who joined us on Saturday!
On Sunday, Team Stoked Biked in the TD Bank’s 5 Borough Bike Ride! Eight riders represented Stoked, biking 46 miles through the five boroughs of New York! Many thanks to the wonderful riders: Adam Kishpaugh, Eric Bogin, George Berger, James Northrup, Leanne Fonseca, Polly Fossey, Sarah Lensing, and our very own Stoked Sophia! The team successfully raised over $3, 500 for Stoked’s action sport youth development programs!
