Stoked is looking for a part-time administrative assistant for its New York City office! We need someone who is detail-oriented, organized, and passionate about Stoked’s mission. Administrative Assistant:

Stoked (www.stoked.org) is an award-winning youth development organization that uses action sports culture (snowboarding, skateboarding, and surfing) to teach life skills to inner-city youth in New York City and Los Angeles. The Administrative Assistant works closely with the President and staff in the New York City office. The position provides administrative support to the entire organization and the President, as well as providing support on fundraising, marketing, and events.Stoked is a small organization that is seeking for a team player who makes no excuses and gets things done on time with a smile. The right candidate will have the ability to communicate with a broad constituency, including busy professionals and teenagers, all while completing daily and weekly tasks. The person in this position should have an interest in non-profit organizations, youth development, social entrepreneurship, and/or action sports. Stoked is a fast growing organization with opportunity for advancement and full-time hours in the future.

Responsibilities include:

  • Support the President in all his administrative needs, including managing his calendar, scheduling meetings, and ensuring he is prepared for meetings and events
  • Support the Development Manager with prospect research, donor recognition, data entry in Stoked’s Salesforce database, and scheduling meetings with prospective donors and elected officials
  • Assist the President and Development Manager with Board meeting preparation
  • Provide support to Program staff in securing administrative items
  • Keeping track of mailings, office supplies, and receipts
  • Organize and clean office as needed
  • Maintain organized and up-to-date filing systems
  • Support event coordination and post-event follow-up
  • Manage social media development on Facebook, Twitter, and www.stoked.org
  • Manage all phone calls and messages
  • Manage all postage and shipping
  • Create new and maintain existing files
  • Document new organization procedures and policies

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • At least two years experience working in a professional environment
  • Be a self-starter who takes initiative on projects and has the ability to work independently and with a team
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize projects
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to work with Stoked’s diverse constituents
  • Proven background of completing projects in a timely manner
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Mac

Requirements:
  • Must arrive on time and act in a professional manner
  • Must be open to learning new software & systems
Part-time: $12 – $15/hour based on experience.
