Mentor Pair Activity: September 18

The Brooklyn Book Festival is this Sunday, September 18, from 10am-6pm at Borough Hall, 209 Joralemon Street, Brooklyn.

Authors will give talks throughout the day at this huge book festival set in the heart of Brooklyn. At 3pm Making Difficult Choices will take place at the Youth Stoop, the festival’s area for youth programming. Bestselling and award-winning authors Cory DoctorowJacqueline Woodson, and Gayle Forman will discuss characters put in extraordinary circumstances and why its important to read these stories.

At 4pm In Over Your Head will take place, also at the Youth Stoop. Prize-winning and bestselling authors Rita Williams GarciaSharon FlakeNicholasa Mohr and Meg Wolitzer will discuss what it feels like for a young person to be in over his/her head and not always able to count on the adults in their lives or live up to expectations.
