STOKED Los Angeles on Go Skateboarding Day

STOKED Los Angeles celebrated Go Skateboarding Day with a bang this year.

After eating a power-foods breakfast of fresh organic fruit at HQ, 23 Stokers, a volunteer and Stoked Charlie took the metro to Santa Monica where they met up with 30 local skaters and two Loaded Boards crew members.

Together they shredded the legendary Bicknell Hill and then skated 3 miles up the coast along the gorgeous Santa Monica Boardwalk. They pushed back to ZJ Boarding House for a rad BBQ (grill and chef provided by ZJBH, thanks guys).

And to make things even more fun, during lunch there was an exercise competition. A few Stokers won prizes for doing loads of pushups, holding the “World’s Heaviest Helmet” and sitting on a wall for a really long time. Thanks to Loaded for donating prizes.

World’s Heaviest Helmet competition going down!

After the comp, the group pushed a mile and a half down to the Venice Skatepark where they watched local skaters tricking out the park. After another mile ride, Stokers took the bus back to HQ and snacked on crazy good brownies baked (and donated) by Chef Daniella Lafkas.

Pushing through the mecca of skate culture on Go Skateboarding Day with a bunch of authentic skaters and totally stoked Stokers sounds like a day really well spent. Nice one, LA!

Thanks so much to Vita Coco for keeping everyone hydrated the healthy way, and to partners Loaded Boards and ZJ Boarding House. As always many thanks to our volunteers and supporters.
