Stoked Awards
The Stoked Awards is a celebration of success in a community of creative individuals determined to close the opportunity gap for inner city youth. STOKED creates environments for disadvantaged youth to succeed through after-school and action sports mentoring programs. We tap a network of inspired surfers, skaters, and snowboarders to unleash the highest potential that exists in us all.
At the 2012 Stoked Awards presented by Mountain Dew we’re honoring long time supporter, the actress Joy Bryant with the Stoked Achievement Award. Past honorees include Pro skateboarder Paul Rodriguez Jr. (P. Rod), Tony Hawk, Bob McKnight, and Marc Ecko. We’ll also recognize a partner who goes the extra hundred miles to make a difference in our community, a Stoked mentee and mentor pair who represent the power of our mission fulfilled, and two individuals who have made outstanding contributions to our organization.
STOKED has a 100% high school graduation rate for kids who are in our program for more than one year. Since we started in 2005, we’ve served more than 2,500 disadvantaged high school students in New York City and Los Angeles.
