Professional (Pro) Mentor
Stoked is big on DIY culture. We believe in creating a vision and running with it.If you like what we do, but you’re not into action sports, there are other ways to help.
Pro mentors are successful people with diverse career paths looking to show our youth the ropes to building an inspired livelihood. A chunk of our pro mentors will likely come from creative fields, but we are looking for anyone who loves what they do. “It’s not what you do but how you do it,” is definitely the idea here.
Pro mentors must commit to working with youth for a few hours after school two days per week for a three month period. Although the model is not highly structured, the basic arc is to design a project for students to work on and help them with all aspects from concept, to timeline, to final execution. The goal is to have students complete a project (group or individual) with guidance from you, the mentor, and gain heaps of confidence and cred in the process.
Opportunities for Corporate Partnerships
Do your company’s values align with ours? As a fast-growing non-profit we prioritize creating and sustaining relationships with leaders in the corporate sector.
In the past STOKED has partnered with Nike, Barclay’s Capital, Goldman Sachs and Quiksilver to offer youth a look at next-level success. Exposing youth to industry innovators could not be more important to our objectives and we’d be glad to collaborate on ideas for possible partnerships.
