Last Saturday, June 18th, House of Vans hosted a Wrap-up party for the spring Stoked to Serve Season in New York. The party was in celebration of a successful Stoked to Serve season. Stoked to Serve New York reached new heights this season, with over 100% increase in participating youth from the fall. Stoked and the House of Vans hosted 3 park clean-ups and 4 skate sessions this spring for youth who wanted to earn community service hours, give back to their communities, and skateboard. Over 75 youth participated in the program, each logging an average of 3 hours of community service. In addition to youth, more than 25 volunteers and mentors attended the clean-ups and skate sessions at parks in Brooklyn.
House of Vans hosted a skate session and party to reward the youth who participated in the program. Over 125 Stokers came out to the House of Vans on Saturday to celebrate the successful program with the teens who were dedicated to making that happen. A few highlights from the day were DJ C-Lo of the Heavy Hitters was spinning at the event, the pizza truck that House of Vans hooked up, and the best trick contest that was judged by Vans staff! We can’t thank the House of Vans enough for their amazing support throughout the season as well as Zoo York and KIND, who were additional program supporters.
Also, a big thanks to all the youth and volunteers who participated in the program, especially Shamel, Damien, Anthony who attended every program day!
