STOKED Partners With Fujifilm To Bring Youth Unique Photography Experience

Fujifilm to Support Action Sports Mentorship Programs that Empowers Under-Resourced Youth

New York, January 2018 — STOKED, a national nonprofit that provides youth mentorship through action sports culture announces a partnership with FUJIFILM North America Corporation. Through the relationship STOKED students will gain access to professional photography equipment, photo mentors, and hands-on experience with set design, photo shoots, editing, displaying and promoting their photos in a professional manner. The collaboration furthers STOKED’s mission to empower urban youth to reach their full potential.

STOKED exists to create a community of fearless leaders,” says STOKED Founder and President, Steve Larosiliere.

“Photography is such a big part of action sports culture. Through this partnership, we’re able to give students the high-level tools and mentors they need to realize a potential passion.”

The relationship stemmed from an initial program with Street League Skateboarding (SLS), an initiative created to foster growth, popularity, and acceptance of street skateboarding. STOKED hosted a “Skate Photography Mentoring Session” in Chicago this past summer where STOKED students had the opportunity to shoot the event alongside photographer and Fujifilm X- Photographer, Gareth Pon.

Fujifilm is thrilled to embark on a relationship with STOKED,” says Lisa Yang, Product Manager for X Series and GFX at FUJIFILM North America Corporation.

“We are committed to supporting the growth and development of youth in our local communities and believe in the power photography has to impact perspectives and lives.”

STOKED celebrates individuals that live big lives, take risks and seize opportunities. Through mentorship, STOKED empowers youth and inspires leaders, creating a community of doers, making change and leading the charge throughout a broad range of industries.
