Snow Mentor

The snow in Southern California has been pumping and the first snowfall of the 2019 came just in time for our first Mentor Snow Day for STOKED Los Angeles. 17 staff and mentors gathered at Snow Summit for a day of training and hang time. On the mountain, lead mentor Victor Shaw facilitated basic snowboard skills training to set up our mentors for success for the snowboarding season.

Our mentors are one of the most important pieces to our Snow Mentor season. Paired with a group of 2-3 kids, our mentors are snowboard instructors for the day. They are the ones teaching our students to skate, stop, complete s-turns, have fun, and most importantly, get down the mountain safely.

We’re really fortunate to have an amazing group of adult mentors and it’s always a treat to get to spend time getting to know them. And to be able to do that while snowboarding was even sweeter!
