An art auction that is not a gala.
No ballroom. No seating chart. No chicken. The STOKED Los Angeles Art Auction is artists, skaters, and the people who came up in this, in one room in Los Angeles, raising the year. The work on the walls goes home with somebody. The money goes into coaches.

The Real Ones: with Hunter Hess.
Hunter Hess trained four years for the Olympics. At the opening press conference he was asked about representing the United States. The media ran with his answer, the President of the United States called him a real loser, and his Olympics turned sideways. Death threats against his family. The FBI. Injuries.
Months later he made a shirt and a hat that said REAL LOSER. He took the insult and wore it. He sold $50,000 worth and gave every dollar of profit to STOKED.
On August 12 he came to our Brooklyn office, told that story to a room of mentors, alumni and supporters, and handed over a check for $30,000.
He reframed the worst thing that happened to him into somebody else’s opportunity.
That is what these nights are. A room, somebody worth listening to, and the ask made in the middle of the night rather than hidden at the end of it. We will host more of them.
